When I saw your post a while back saying you were selling your IDI and getting a Ranger, I didn't figure you'd be happy with it. At least I know I wouldn't. I wouldn't trade my old beaters for brand new Rangers! Little 4 banger trucks just can't compare to a man size oil burner! LOL

i agree! i thought i would be able to adjust but it aint gonna happen. this time im going for a powerstroke. i want something with a little more aftermarket support for them. may try to find a cheap idi for a tow rig and a psd for a toy. not sure how much money i can get at the moment so right now im limited to around $2000. i know that damn sure aint enough for both or even one thats nice. trying to find something that needs some work for cheap.

I had a 3.0 5 speed 4x4 regular cab ranger, loved the truck, power was ok, but there was NO room! Either my knees or back hurt and I'm only 5'8! The idi was a welcome change, and thats the reason I love my scouts compact and tons of room!

I have a 83 6.9 4 spd 4wd and a 92 7.3 auto 4wd F-250 just for towing. The majority of the time they just sit. I have a 97 Ranger lb rc 3.0 auto that's my buzzaround truck. Much easier to manuver and park in town. Eason

I have both. I don't like that the ranger has very little room, and no power, but it isn't a bad little truck. I really prefer to drive my diesel.

Well that didnt take long. If you would of bought a V6, extended cab you would have room and power. The 4 cyl reg cab is the problem

You think you can find a PSD truck for 2k? Good luck

While i enjoy driving my truck around, i really miss driving the old diesel ranger around and really miss driving the Mercedes 300D around. Ranger was so maneuverable it was great only quit driving it when i decided it wasn't safe to drive anymore. Something about being able to pick the cab up off the frame along with the frame regularly developing new cracks kinda scared me.

I drive a ranger all day long at work, has an empty utility shell with the 2.3. It's pretty slow compared to the other trucks without shells. At least I get to drive an idi at the end of the day.

Hmm...got a 90 ranger EC 2.9 315,000K on it goes well...not great..but well...cheaper on fuel than my 5.0 Bronco was...not sure bout the new 5.8 as it's not quite on road...

Lots of leg room for sure with Excab tilt wheel makes huge difference. ya I'm ok with it for the 375 bucks I paid.

I got several thousand miles on it since I bought it...-25C in Biggar Saskatchewan last year before Christmas when brother in law froze to death we drove out there in it and was awesome. Starts without plugging in at -25 NO PROBLEM...ya I drive a Ford! And I love it.
