You need to drill that dimple in the actuator sleeve and the one on the other side till you hit the threads or it will twist off the rod., then add a jam nut if you want.

Or run a tap through it.

Russ is correct, as usual 3 turns to start, which according to ATS is equal to roughly 1 psi.

Are you saying I need to drill out the dimples before I adjust the waste gate or what? Are the dimples holding it from moving? Before I move anything Id like to know how many threads it looks like it at right now? Anyone know how many threads there are completely?

I removed the wagtegate last night, Removed the adjuster and ran a thread chaser down it and over the other arm. I measured how far I thought I needed to go. I tightened the jam nut and threw it on. I must say I was very lucky and got it just right where it needed to be. I can hit 10PSI now!! I also can hear the turbo more, its got some whistle to it now.

If I go any farther what will happen?

Did the wastegate adjuster just turn off, or did you need to drill out the dimples? Good job setting up right off the bat for 10psi.

I ran a thread chaser down it. I didn't drill out the dimple only because the chaser went all the way through. I did have to add a jam nut.

I believe those dimples run down into the thread. I believe they were "dimpled" from the factory to keep the waste gate rod from adjusting itself. I didnt drill mine out, all I did was run a thread chaser all the way through.

So you just unthreaded the threaded rod, then chased the dimples away, then put the rad where you wanted it and put the jam not on it to keep it from moving?

You were lucky, the dimples will really mess up the threads and can break the rod. They do go into the threads

This is what happened to mine. I tried like hell to extract the part of the rod that was broken off in the rod end, but had no luck. Eventually I had to cut 7/8" off the rod end, and weld a 7/8" stand off nut in its place.
