I'm going to look at a big winch for my carhauler tonight that's nice and cheap, but as usual, the brain gears engaged slowly and I just put 2 and 2 together and the guy said that it came off a wrecker so there's a real good chance that it's hydraulic.
How hard would it be to remote power a hydraulic winch in an enclosed gooseneck trailer? I'd imagine some tractor type auto shutoff hydraulic line fittings, but I know nothing about what I'd need for a pump from there. Any info would be appreciated
Watch me get down there and it be a PTO job
Thanks-----Robert

I used to work as a Toyota master tech, and had a Landcruiser customer that had an old chevy power steering pump mounted on a briggs motor on a rack on his rear bumper, with quick disconnects for the hoses to power his hydraulic winch on the front or the rear of his Landcruiser. It'd be cheap and easy to setup something similar on a gooseneck trailer, and potentially drive a generator too.

hydro is easy quick disconnects on a pto driven or motor driven pump
if its a pto winch run pto to the rear bumper under the hitch with a 3pt tractor hitch pto disconnect then add pto to the trailer with a jumper section or run the pto out the side of ther trailer un hitch hook up pto and use then rehitch

they have small to medium size hydraulic winch systems (tank, bump, winch, mounting plateform) you can pick one up from 10k to 45k pull for less than 500 or so sometimes.
