I been looking into getting a cummins at least 03 and up for the crew cab. I really would like to have a standard. Now the main question is pros and cons between the 5.9 and 6.7 ? Any info would be great.

5.9 No emmissions BS, the 6.7 has EGR DPF.
5.9 is a little bit better on fuel economy.

- 2003, 2004 you could get an NV4500 5 speed behind the standard 5.9
- 2003, 2004 the NV5600 six speed came with the HO version
- 2004.5 early 2005 The NV5600 was standard, no NV4500 offered, no longer an HO 5.9 From Cummins. 04.5 5.9 upped the HP & Tq to 325/600. Exhaust size was increased to 4" from 3.5" and a catalytic converter was added in 2004.5
- Late 2005 and up six speed was the Mercedes G5600 and they went to a dual mass flywheel

IMHO The NV5600 is the best of the 3

Well you get some BS with the CR 5.9s with the third injection event and cat and all that fun stuff in the 2004.5+ trucks.

SWEET ZOMBIE Thread on my part.

so get an 03-early 04 and you get no bs. no egr no cat, a waste gated turbo, no nothing but the joys of common rail and pulse injection.
