My injectors got delivered today too, dropped off at the front door, or so their shipment tracking system says - well dunno whose front door they got dropped off at, but in sure as heck ain't mine - I walked all around the house checking side and garage doors, even walked around the barn as a good measure - nope, no sign of a FedEx package... :dunno
I had that happen to me. Bought alot of stuff from some online store. Someone got a lot of goodies.:puke:

U-Haul still has some good parts. Just ordered 5 more GP controllers and another tach sensor. Think I'll start a store, how does this name sound UHAULASS Ford Parts.

Got my injectors today but no glow plugs. Hopefully they ship them separately. On that invoice only the injectors were listed, so it seemed correct as far as it went. The are allegedly D codes but probably rebuilt to BB spec. They look decent and have coppers and orings with them. I'm pleased but none of these remans will be going into the truck without pop/spray pattern testing.

Ya sure want to call them tomorrow. Stupid Fed-Ex guy dropped a shipment off at my back door when he had to go right past the front porch, then left the tag on the box saying delivered. Didn't find them for two days, only when putting the garbage out. Today he left the four boxes of IP's on the front steps. :dunno
Oh, I called already this afternoon, the moment I saw the delivery notification on their site. Not sure how much they looked into it, as they never called back, but all is now good - turns out the driver dropped the package off at the neighbor's house down the road, maybe he ain't from 'round here and so he thought their house belongs with our field, lol. The lady found the package at her front door and brought it over to our place ;Sweet now I gotta figure out something as a thank-you gesture for her, I'm thinking home-baked cookies sound good? :D

wow my injectors all look new, both sets are in delphi boxes, all have washers and o rings.
Yup, same situation with mine - look like they ain't never been installed, ever. All in Delphi boxes, all BB-codes, all packed in 2005, with copper seals and o-rings.

Have you got a 12 cylinder 6.9 or 7.3? Why only 12 glow plugs? You didn't put the other 4 in the gun did you?

I don't have a ton of cash around, so my meeting in the middle was to get 4 spares :dunno

All my injectors look kinda crappy - they could be used for what I know. I'll take them out of the package and take a picture - they are all BB codes, but they are of differing quality. I may call them on this one - some are missing o rings and I think copper washers too.

Why is everyone order the tach sensors? Do they go bad or what? My 86' tach is working perfectly, should I order one for a spare or what? The tach doesn't seem that important on a diesel...

Discovered much of my order on the porch this evening. Bosch glow plugs, marked Made in Japan. Standadyne "D" injectors marked made in Italy, date code 98. Injectors look new, not rebuilt, with synthetic o-rings and copper washers in place.

Arrived in 3 different packages from 3 different locations. Uhaul must be doing their own happy dance to be clearing many shelves and actually netting some cash for things they'll never use. Smart business.

Uhaul store site shows inj. pump not yet shipped.

They are getting harder to find and like everything else the do eventually break down.

For the E4OD a tach sensor is essential for proper opperation.

Pig in a mudhole? Least that's how I've seen it, them pigs love mud holes more than rednecks do!

Your injectors actually have the caps on the wrong way - the big yellow caps are supposed to go on the top side to hide both the inlet and outlet ports, while the small red caps go on the nozzles. Heck if I know how someone could get them on the wrong way, but I've seen weirder stuff. And the tach sensors do die with age, on a truck with an E4OD trans that can spell doom cause it puts the PCM into FMM and jacks the line pressure way high eventually causing a mechanical failure of some internal parts.

My injectors were made in Mexico, packaged in '05 (not sure if that's also when they were made). How can you tell your o-rings are synthetic?

is this the sensor that mounts to the side of the injection pump?

could you tell me the Uhaul part number?

I don't have a tachometer on the dash. Just wondering if I needed it.

Thanks

ETA..

are there any electrical connectors/pigtails that fail regularly? Uhaul still has a fair number of them.

Oh wow, thanks for letting me know, I'm going to take pics of each one and see what people think. That sucks about the tach sensor doing that to a transmission, another reason to love the manuals. Although an auto would be nice to...

How many rings does each one use? A few of them came with two in each package...
