Rotella 15 W 40 every 40k miles.
40k??
I change my Delo at 5k with a bypass. I know I could go longer but that seems awfully long. Are you using the synthetic Rotella?

WOW what are you trying to burn for fuel I ran WVO straight unheated and my injector looked as clean as the ones that only burn #2
Wow...that's some rather awesome savings. Good on ya! *&%$ing diesel fuel is starting to climb up here in the land of Cdn bacon and maple syrup. Can ya post a couple pics of your operation?

40K on Rotella is way too long, all of the additives have long been depleted. Commonly depleted at 5K miles. Anti foaming additive IH P/N CH1824392. The viscosity additives are also depleted, which if you would measure it, it would prolly be at 25-30.
How much oil do you add in that 40K miles?
How often do you change the filter?
Do you ever get an oil analysis after that many miles?
When I turn my key off, my system automatically purges for 60 seconds, running diesel through all of the lines from the tank all the way through the heads. When I start the next time I am starting a truck that last ran on diesel. If it didn't do this and it were cold outside, the VO would be thick throughout the system and it would be very hard to start.

the problem may be the oil oil left in the injectors, fuel only leaves the injectors thru the nozzle
