Is getting worn out
How do i change my revlimiter eithe lower or higher?
Because for pullin, more RPM's helps keep it going because more momentum
two to one--i lose--right????
This was one thing I recall that Ken did with the DPS pumps was to bump up the rev limiter from 3350 to 3850. I don't know if the Moose Pump does that as well or not. I'm scared to hold mine at 3350 for very long let alone over that. It just scares me that a valve spring might break or I would float a valve or break a rocker or something like that. As far as the balance, don't you think they were probably overbuilt a little(IE maybe balanced to 4000 RPM?) maybe not? I'm not going to try it voluntarily again. Mine held together in the runaway situation, but I don't even know how high the revs ever got. It could have been only 2500 and I still would have been scared s**tless as I was.
I can't see why you;d want to go any higher either. If you want to kick it upo some, turn the fuel up and maximize what you can get out of the effective range of the engine, but you start going over red line and you are playing with fire as far as balance issues etc. The thing just wasn't designed to hold together at higher RPMs.
Calvin says the valves start to float at something like 4200-4400 rpm's
thats probly true, i have no idea what they float at, but 4000 is all i want on a stock motor, is i ever get to build mine the way i want im going to find some better valve springs that will let me turn close to 4500, but that in the future down the road
