Some of you may have read my other thread a couple of months ago about folks stealing ATF out of a drum I dropped at a local shop so they could separate it for me.

Well, two more runs = empty barrel. I'm removing the barrel and having them just drop the atf in the wmo sump - at least that way I'll get SOME atf in my wmo :)

You'd think with fuel prices dropping thieves would get complacent. Ahh well.

Waste oil theft - what next?

bait em'.
I have a 5gal can full of fuel. it's left where they can find it if they're looking where they shouldn't be at. I've premixed it with 1lb of sugar and 1 quart of corn syrup. fuel thefts around here have become rampant since the bottom fell out of the scrap metal market. I don't get hit nowhere near as bad as my neighbors since it's well known I keep weird hours and I shoot.

On the flip side I have a 250 of unleaded and a 250 tank of #2 clearly labeled on my place in an undisclosed northern state and never is one ounce missing. Just being close to a metropolitan area with people that have situational morality.

I wonder if it works any better with a diesel ?

A car engine will be destroyed when sugar is put into the fuel tank.

busted

The engine ran even better than without the sugar.

the sugar isnt added to ruin the engine its done to clog the screen on the sending unit, fuel filters, lines.the corn syrup will help it to clump up in a line and cause the vehicle to starve for fuel.kinda like putting saran wrap in the tank.it will float around till it gets sucked up and the vehicle dies.then ittl fall of and the vehicle will run till the plastic gets sucked up again.

try again.
like rich said, it will certainly clog up the fuel system.
I bought a Isuzu carrier that was victim to that. the cost at the dealership to replace the entire fuel system exceeded the value of the vehicle.

So let it be said that when sugar burns it turns into what??? A black carbon looking hard material. Now that being said think what it does to the rings and cylinder walls over a period of time... No thank you. I will still believe how it will kill a motor but not overnite....

Leave a "bait can" with a cup or so of bleach in it... I know a guy that his ex dumped about 3-4 gallons of bleach into his diesel transfer tank in the back of his truck. He didn't realize it until after he'd filled up the equipment with her mix. He said it messed everything up bad.

You may get a little satisfaction from sabotaging the oil but I wouldn't do it if I were you. The person may figure out what happenned and,
1. do same to you.
2. do something to the shop.
3. figure out who you are and try to cause you physical harm.
4. just plain bad karma.

There are people around here that I just plain hate enough to do something to their vehicles because you reap what you sow.
