That sucks, even I wont buy Autolite GP's and I come from a family of retired Autolite workers. After they sold that division off the plug aint worth a crap.

But look at the bright side....

Time for a port and polish on the heads!
Head studs too!

The money saved on the GP's is not worth it. Now you're paying over two hundred at minimal in gaskets to pull the head. If you have piston damage, it's going to cost you a lot more.............may be a total rebuild.

Not to pick at your parents, but that was a costly mistake.

Use Beru/Motorcraft ZD-1A's only.

Yea. Your dad should have known better. Show him this thread. He should fund your repair since you told him they were no good, and he made you use them anyway. I'm helping my boy build a truck, and if I make a mistake in parts selection, I sure as heck won't be asking him to pay for it.

ya i should have him help pay for it. And heck he should know better, he's been a heavy equipment mechanic for 21 years now, and he has worked on 6.9. I just might have to bring it up when he gets home
