It blows my mind that anyone would pay $25 000 for a 12 year old truck, but I do agree that the closer to stock the truck is, the better the value. I don't even bother with ads that list all the "upgrades" and the cost of them because those never bring any respect when it comes to resale. I bought my truck for $3500 and its probably cost me closer to $10 000 by now with all the improvements (CAD$) and engine overhaul but theres no way I could get that money for it if I tried to sell it. Although Darrin seems to be a slightly better salesman then me;Really

I think I would offer around 7500.00 and walk at any counter offer. That truck may have lower mileage, but it's definitely not mint. Everyone has to remember though, there is no set value on any material item in life, it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it . That said, someone may be willing to pay that kind of money if it's exactly what they are looking for (gotta love a sucker with too much money).

He must have seen this thread. He lowered it to 21k.

KBB Retail Value is $13,295
Hell, he's got it listed at the original MSRP

Last year I picked up a 1995 crew cab F350 4 wheel drive with 120K on it for $1000. It had a utility box on it. I turned it around and made some cash:)

I emailed the guy....just to make sure it was not a typo and he got a little pissed:

Dear hesutton,

We'll people like you look at model year and that's it because you don't know what this truck really is and if you know about the newer diesels than you would pay more for an older more reliable truck than a newer one just to say you have a new truck even though it would have a p.o.s. engine, I work in service department of a ford dealership I know. This is well worth 22k dollars any day of the week and not by blue book.

Nicely done, hesutton! You just got him to fit both feet in!!

OK, so by his logic, my truck would be worth at least twice as much as a powerstroke. So Maybe I'd sell if for 50 grand, but I'll bend a little..... any takers?

Geesh Heath, I thought you knew all that all ready...don't cross the path a Ford Service Department worker...last time I tried to order $500 or so in parts from mine, the azzhat nearly tore my head off! No thanks, I'll buy online until they go belly up! You've probably forgotten more than this guy knows about em! Personally, I think he's out of the ball park, but I've seen some pics of the ones Darrin has sold, they are nice and he seems to get the money out of them.

I think he's including shop labor rate charges in his asking price cookoo

I don't know how this guy thinks he can ask $22K for that truck. It's modded, lifted, and has a hole cut in the bed. And, from the sound of it, is not "mint" (if it's got cigarette burns in the seats it ain't mint)
