Well, it's time to let the cat out of the bag! My truck was chosen for a feature in Diesel Power Magazine - it's out in the current November issue. I just got my issue in the mail today, and there is a very nice 3-4 page feature on the old truck starting on page 98.

Mike McGlothlin at Diesel Power wrote up a really nice article based on the information I gave him, and I provided all the photos. He was even nice enough to mention that the turbo in the photos was being replaced by my new ATS Aurora 2000 system. The write up sheds some light on the IDI diesels, and makes my point that you don't have to have a newer truck to get some towing done and have a nice vehicle.

Check it out if you have a minute- you should see the November issue on shelves pretty soon and subscribers should see the magazine in the mail this week or next.

Congrats on the feature Ryan!

Did they mention the forum at all, in it? If they did, did they get the name right this time???

Here are some quick scans of the article. I'm sorry to report that they didn't mention the forum at all- and perhaps I should sport an oilburners.net sticker on my back window- that would've shown up!

Anyway, I'll take my little 15 minutes of fame in the little IDI world and enjoy it.

Ryan

I talked to Ryan tonight on the phone, and he sounded pretty stoked about this. I know I sure would have been!

I told them I didnt want my truck in the mag in the beginning, but Mike wrote me and asked if I would contribute my share of pics, so I did. After growing up building show cars, I know what it takes to get into a magazine, and I knew my truck wasnt of the caliber to deserve being in the article. Ryan, Justin, Barny, Mel, Sam and many others deserved to be in the mag more than I did. I about fell over when I saw my truck and my engine shots were the headliners for that article.
I'm stoked about it, dont get me wrong, I just knew other guys deserved it more than I did.
Im glad Ryan and Justin are getting some proper coverage on their trucks now.
Way to go Mike! We need to keep you at rolling these IDI articles out. I keep buying the magazine when these are in there.
