Doing WVO here and wondering what if anything can be done with creamy shortning or other thick grease? It's getting colder out so now my settling tanks are starting to get a thick deposit on the bottom and that is after a 5mic filter so I would have to guess that I have some shortening in there and I am wondering is it better to just pour it off after I am done or just shake it up and let my heat transfer unit do the job? So lets hear WHAT YOU DO WITH THE GOO!!111-Flame Thr did a test with it clear pvc contaner with worst batch of goo microwaved it for 4 minutes and now it is clear so thinking that when it starts to get colder just heating the tank with some block heaters just to be safe. I am getting plenty fuel back with the return.

put it in a grease gun and well use it for winter grease that's what the russians did in 1939 hence we have margarine just a thought.

The goo can be used as oil if heated enough or you can save it for biodiesel production. I have another use that you might find surprising... Hand Cleaner!!
It'll take the grease off your hands pretty darn well.

I've read of some that mix the sludge with saw dust then pack it in 1/2 gallon milk containers for use in a wood stove. cookoo

Others use the sludge on gravel/dirt roads to help pack it to keep the dust down. cookoo

Me? I have permission from a local restaurant owner to dump mine in his oil collection barrel. ;Sweet

Well I think it isnt something I would want in my tank in the cold weather.just recently switched from using the rear tank for wvo to the front for better heat return via the return line thinking about wrapping a radiator hose around the tank and adding a heat exchanger close to the outlet of the tank. She is running fine on 5% kero and wvo. have any of you found out a good mix to be able to start on wvo and diesel? I think that it could be run constantly on my 5% mix but would either have to plug in block heaters to the bottom of the tanks or leave her running all the time

5% mix vs. two 1,000 watt 120v block heater times how many hours per day?
I won't address running it 24/7 LOL

Why bother? cookoo
