work in progress
Ok so I am a Diesel Mechanic Certified in Detroit and Mercedes engines and I own a 93 Ford F250 with the 7.3L Ford/International di engine. I can run an overhead on a detroit in my sleep, and could probably figure out how to check and adjust my valve lash on my 7.3 but am really wanting to find some good recourses to do it properly. (you know adjust what valve when the cam is in what position) some engines you adjust certian valves with certain pistons at tdc, and others you set while cerlain valves are in valve overlap, and honestly I don't know the prescribed way to do it on this engine. I am sure if I use a dial indicatior and when the valve is completely closed and the lifter is on the low spot of the cam I could set that particular valve but that is the long way to do it. If anyone knows where I could find the information I am looking for it would be greatly appreciated. I am sure my truck is long over due for this.
I mostly work on small Cummins, Detroit's, Mercedes but I put my hands on whatever is broken...I don't do a whole lot of CAT work, we have a couple of highly trained CAT guys in my shop. I get a lot of electrical trouble shooting, I seem to have the patience for it and I'm thorough....I use the tech support hotlines a lot - always worth the call.
nice n quiet.

.....I've had it for 9 years now, 1994 5.0 Mustang roller engine, C4 trans, narrowed 9" diff, Crager SS/T wheels....The usual mod's.
