Aren't there oil plugs on the back header of the oil cooler? I guess that one might be in use for the turbo. :Q
I think that there's a coolant plug there. The one you're thinking of is on the bellhousing, behind the oil filter. It's the most commonly used one for aftermarket turbos.

Is this a game of place to put my oil pressure sensor? Worried about heat from exhaust pipe

People use that for their oil feed, but those are stainless braided lines. I'm not sure that I'd put a pressure sensor there. If you want to put a pressure sensor down low like that, why don't you look in front of the oil filter, right above the oil pan, at those galleys? One of those will be far enough away from the exhaust that you won't have any troubles. Those galleys aren't all easy to access, but I think that the rear most one wouldn't be too bad. They all have the same 9/32" square headed plug as the one that you circled, at least they do from the factory.

The ones on the heads are. There's still the original location for the oil pressure gauge.

ok so on the top back of block on passenger side is where the original oil pressure gauge line is , this line goes to the top of turbo where the original pressure sensor is located. Now on the drivers side top of back of block is a large square plug that mirrors the location of oil line to pressure sensor on passenger side. Is this plug on drivers side not an oil galley, i can connect my new oil pressure sensor to?

Unless you're got something that I've never seen, there is no plug on the back, top of the block. There is a square headed plug on the back, upper part of the head, below the valve cover. It sits pretty horizontally. You can put a 9/16" box end wrench or a 9/16" 8 point socket onto the square part. That is a coolant passage. The corresponding plug on the passenger's side head holds your fast idle switch and it's underneath the thermostat housing. The plug that I'm talking about on the driver's side head is where the 6.9 glow plug controller goes in. On pre 1987 6.9s of course.

Ok just got my gauges installed and either something is wrong with my get gauge or I don’t know how to read it . It looks to me like it is showing 1600 degrees sitting idling in my drive way , someone tell me what your seeing please .

Ok just got my gauges installed and either something is wrong with my get gauge or I don’t know how to read it . It looks to me like it is showing 1600 degrees sitting idling in my drive way , someone tell me what your seeing please .
Is it the one saying “16”? Kinda tough to make out the pic for me on a phone maybe another pic will help. The dial gauge seems to be at that bottom though… I’m not familiar with these gauges personally

It is rather blurry... But its probably for 160°f? Or maybe you have it in Celsius :smash:

Yes it is the one that say 16 and then on the dial face it is printed “x 100”

looked up the gauge on their website and the dial portion has single digit numbers so that’s probably only what the x100 is for. The digital says “quick glance” reading so seems it just gives you the first two digits. Kind of cool I suppose once you get used to it? But I agree it’s slightly odd.

Have been looking at gauges myself and have seen the dual dial and digital gauges from other manufacturers so maybe this is a common feature?
