Which replacement injection pump?

I need a new injection pump for my 87 F250, it has the original 6.9 with as far as I know about 75k miles, and a Banks turbo kit with an intercooler. I would not complain about a little more power but definitely not to the point of needing head studs or other internal modifications. Can anyone recommend which pump to get and where? I have seen a number of places selling them but it's always hard to get an unbiased opinion when asking the people who sell them.

If you already have an intercooled turbo on your 6.9l chances are you won't be able to do many more power improvements without head studs. Check here for rebuilt IPs and IDI parts:

I've ordered from CDD before. A+ for parts and speedy service.

80cc, maybe a 90, nothing else bigger without injectors and studs ...
Justin provides you an optional 80/ 90cc pump calibrated to provide you adjustment for either output.

I recently installed injectors and RD-80 injection pump from R&D IDI and could not be more pleased so far. Only a few hundred miles on the new parts but plenty of power and I've only been able to hit 900F-950F EGT on a long hill climb without an intercooler.
You should call R&D to see when they will restock their pumps since the website almost always says "Out of stock".

Looks like you're in nor-cal. I've used Diamond Diesel in west sac. I think they are in Oakland as well. They are authorized Stanadyne rebuilder and I've been really happy with parts/service I've got from them. I've been there for several things and I've noticed most of the customers were shops bringing them injection pumps and turbos on big diesel trucks (good sign in my mind).

Is R&D IDI still in business? I emailed and they never answered, calling just goes straight to a message, and nearly everything shows out of stock. Moose Diesel is the only one I was actually able to contact, I may end up just going with them if it's the only choice.

I spoke to R&D in March over the phone and ordered stage 1 injectors. I can't speak to the last month or two though.

Justin is a 1 man operation, he's usually burried and real hard to get ahold of.
If you are ready to send in a core up front it sometimes helps expedite your order.
So don't go into it like a lookyloo.

I've got a couple of pumps I could send right away, it's mainly going to be the lead time to get the parts that will make my decision I think. If it's 2-3 months+ I don't really have a place to store the truck that long without being able to move it, but I'd order at least a few things from him right now if he had them in stock.

Justin may be longer than that. He typically does things in batches. I had him build me a pump and a set of injectors, pump was one he had in stock, injectors took a few months to get back. He does nothing but quality work and stands by his product.

Try calling him again, best time is early in the day. I find the best time is around 8 or 9am, if he doesnt answer, his wife usually does.

If he isn't able to get you what you need within your timeframe, I'd suggest Moose Diesel.

And, since he is human and can make mistakes, if something happens to go wrong, PLEASE contact him to see what he has to say. That goes for the other two as well. Things don't go wrong very often, but it's always a possibility.
