$358 for something like it

I bought the high dollar one made by @IDIoit

It’s a very high quality piece, will most definitely outlast everything else around it, and should be very easy to install.

It’s also guaranteed to fit, and that’s probably a tall order for a muffler shop, what with engine and firewall clearance, and putting the turbo in just the right spot to fit the intake hat, pedestal, and downpipe. There’s more going on there than you might think. Also, the V band clamp and bellow used aren’t particularly cheap. Probably $150ish at least for these two parts, if not more. Welding supplies, oh and stainless steel tubing isn’t the cheapest either.

Maybe it’s a little bit expensive, but he told me that it’s mostly to fund his projects, so figures it’d be expensive.

Bottom line, it’s the highest quality y/up pipe on the market, priced accordingly.
CDD is out of stock and waiting for a new run to be manufactured by the company they have subbed it out to and I can't reach IDIot. My truck is out of commission because of this damn joint! I have had it apart 3 times trying different things but can't overcome that something has changed and it just doesn't work anymore. I'm going to go deeper and pull the up pipe and y pipe and take them to a blacksmith that lives down the road from me. He's a genius with metal, has won Forged by Fire twice - maybe he can come up with a fix for me.

A local muffler shop would make this for less then $200. Geesh.
you can go to a muffler shop and have them mig weld you some mild steel, no bellow for vibration/expansion, and heat wrap it for rust promotion.
it would still run you more than $200

the 1/2" thick 304 ss flange alone cost $150.

i use nothing but 304ss for longevity.

the v band makes install and future work 100x easier than the factory cast up pipe.

this is also TIG welded.

CDD now makes one out of aluminized steel if youre looking for a cheap substitute.
but it also needs a donut gasket.
if youve been wrenching for any length of time, you know how donut gaskets get.

i have sold alot of these and have not had 1 return.
but rest assured, if one does fail, it can be sent back and fixed for free as long as i am still breathing.

if you had been around when the factory castings were available, you would remember that the price was $1100 for them badboys.
this was 8 years ago?
and when they became obsolete, i was the only one to step up and offer support.

as someone who builds pre 1975 vehicles for a living, especially in southern california, id expect more out of you.

i didnt get a call from ya, so i expect that v band clamp had more room than you imagined? :)
