Is anyone else hesitant to leave a 800ish watt block heater plugged in for extened times or over-night, say?

Nope. I've left mine plugged in over night. I grew up in Alaska where leaving the vehicles plugged in overnight was the norm.

Mine's been plugged in all week and it's been hovering around 30 degrees here, didn't give me a lick of trouble. (Had mostly water in it, didn't want it to freeze)

Live here in tx. Don't even need the block heater. Lol. But to get to work wen my glow plugs were bad I left it plugged in overnight every night and leave it plugged in all weekend that I don't use the truck.

Thanks for the reassurances. I did have one that would over heat it and super pressurize things to the point of seeping coolant. might just have been oversized for the little 4.cyl. Time to get over the fear since I've had no issue thus far.

I got 2 block heaters on mine and it's been plugged in for like 3 days because I was going to use it and haven't unplugged I yet also use a good heavy gauge cord because a light gauge cord will heat up and possibly cause a fire

I am on genny half of the time, Frank. Kilowatt hours on dino get pricey! -4F overnight and two hours plugged seems to be sufficient
