Them glow plugs aint going back in anyways. I found all autolites and 3 of them were swollen and had to do the old needle nose vice grips trick and remove the IP and steel lines to do it. Pita, but easier than removing the heads. I like saving money we're I can, but I don't put trash parts on my truck either cause they cost more in the long run with the damage they cause. That and autolites are litteraly 3 dollers less than zd9 as a set around here so it was pointless. Wife's glow plugs came out easy on her locked engine. All zd9 so in and out in 20 min full of deep creep seafoam and setting past few days. Gonna get that breaker bar out on it in next few days. It is a 1 inch socket for the crank right?

I tried that, one of those internet ideas. It does work well, but I can't seem to find a container to squirt it out of and not have the acetone evaporate over time. After that happens I am left with just ATF which doesn't work that well to loosen bolts and other things.

It works great for me too, better than any brand of panther **** I've tried!

The idea (I think) is that the acetone acts as a thinner "carrier liquid" to get the ATF into places it wouldn't normally flow. The two parts separate out fairly fast, so you have to shake then spray.

I use a refillable aerosol can I got years ago from Harbor Fright. Pressurized through a Shrader valve to 90 psi. Not sure they still sell it, though.

Buddy has a 83 f350 2wd 6.9 with t19. Came home from deployment and his engine was locked up from sitting. That was 4 years ago and now wants me to try to free it up now that he is safe from ex wife getting it from him. Usual trick with the marvel mystery oil on top of the Pistons for a week and start tugging while someone in the truck works the clutch? Done it a hundred times on gassers seized up before removing and rebuilding, does same apply with these idis?

You can do that with any engine that is seized up. Unless of course you have a broken rod jamming it up...

Bent rod jamming it up indeed..... May have to go talk to my buddy in South Texas soon..... And wats worse is it's not my buddys truck with the bent rod but my wife's. She is thoroughly pissed, and I can't blame her. I may have to drop my old 6.9 in there after going through it so she's back up on the road. As far as my buddy's truck that I'm actually posing about, the crank is trying to move but not giving me more than a few degrees turn so I think I'm going to have to pull the heads at the very least but at that point it would just benefit me better to pull that block as well and see if he would rather me just go through the whole thing. Would be better in the long run since he now wants to put some sort of Detroit supercharger on it and arp headstuds. We will see.

Well post pictures so that we can see too!;)
I need to look at someone else's pics so I can get my head wrapped around how to come up with this. Lol. May have to surf fir a bit on here and troll Fe to find a thread on this one.
When you pull the engine, pull off the oil pan. You will know real quick if it is a rod

And I needs that solid front end and all the accuterments should my measuring tape say it fits...... Trading him a zf5 and a good 2wd front end for that. Throwing in a new luk smf kit to try and sweeten the deal. But all that has to come out my daily driver! Lol. But just as the other two are locked, I can assume as long as this one has been setting without any way to keep water out the intake it has met the same fate according to the old breaker bar
