yes you got it I have been using the truck like that for a bit now. local stuff have run about a tank of fuel through it. runs okay, smooth, but the problem now is it is still getting oil past the orings on the injectors. and did replace the orings

It seamed to me to be pretty simple change but i must have missed something somewhere any thoughts?

I would clean out the bores. You can actually buy a brush set for cleaning them out. Plus making sure the bottom is clean where the copper washer goes.
Why do you think oil is still getting past?

I think oil is getting past because the fuel in the tank is dark and the oil consumption is vary high.
Would you tell me more about that brush?

OK back to work on this beast. pulling the injectors and looking for someplace that would be letting oil get past into the fuel. The way i get it the top third of the injector is oil middle is fuel bottom coolant. So i am looking mainly at the second o ring down and clean in that sealing area on the head. That is where it would leak. Don't think those oil seals even seal in the cup. still working on it but I think maybe i just didn't torque them down tight enough. Your thoughts please.

Coolant doesn't go through the injectors. Oil comes in between the top and middle oring. Fuel comes in between the middle and bottom oring.
Coolant does flow around the injector cup.

got r done for now anyhow . have a torque wrench IN LB on the way . just don't see any reason for the injectors to be leaking oil into the fuel .
the cups where a little dirty, but the oil is sealed above that area. so i am hoping I just need to get them a little tighter.

Ok so the middle o ring is the one that would be letting oil into the fuel. Right? pink alliant

That is correct. I forget the torque requirements for 7.3 injectors, but I know when I did them on my 6.0, it took a lot more to hit the number than expected. Hand to put a fair amount of force. Wouldn't be doing that with a standard length 3/8 drive ratchet.
Personally, I got mine at harbor freight.

7.3 PSD injector hold down bolt is 10 ft/lbs
yes that is why I got the inch lb wrench 10 ft lb is pretty touchy when mashing o ring and copper. but i am sure I got that part right
here are the results
after it ran long enough to get all the air out i cleaned it up and drove it hard for 30 miles used 1 qt of oil. Pictures show clean valley no leaks found there. thinking it is burning it.
Can I loose oil through the turbo and burn it clean enough i don't see much in the exhaust?
