My old pump is leaking pretty bad, time to replace it off my '93 f250 7.3 idi e40d.

Looking to purchase a reman one hopefully to save on some cost, probably from Rockauto unless their is another suggestion.

Looking at this Delphi Stanadyne reman IP (https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinf...&jsn=1278&jsn=1278&jsn=1278&jsn=1278&jsn=1278) looks close to the same model no. as mine (DB05013) but am not sure.

There are two others from rockauto that look to be the same, but I can't quite tell for sure (especially with their limited info on the site...)

GB reman: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=8932724&cc=1124660&jsn=1272&jsn=1272&jsn=1272

Cardone: http://www.cardone.com/Products/Pro...04&p=rock&jsn=1273&jsn=1273&jsn=1273&jsn=1273

I would rather go with the Delphi for the price point with the GB as second if possible. Really can't find any matching OE numbers or even aftermarket numbers that match or convert.

My current old IP is a

Stanadyne:

No#: L2-DB2831-5013 - J

7336376 - 1816521C92

Any info on making sure these pumps match up? Or a/some brands to avoid? Need to get'r done very soon.
Thanks guys

No really. Do not buy a parts store pump.

Unless of course you enjoy doing things twice and spending extra time and money to fix what should have been right the first time...

LOTS of people have had issues with parts store reman pumps. The listed vendors are known to have good parts and CUSTOMER SERVICE not just some tech line in India.

The first three vendors are actually supporting members here and I know at least Classic Diesel Designs and Conestoga Diesel Injection are site vendors. That being said I wouldn't hesitate to buy from Russ (Typ4) either.

Buy once, cry once. Do it right the first time.

Please dont make my mistakes. The list above by sjwelds is there. I know these pumps cost a bit but they will cost 3 times as much in the long run between doing the swap quite often as well as fuel mileage, and lack of power and then more failure again. The list above are real people that Still give a damn about these trucks and vans with these engines and will do you right and back their product. And every one of the people listed above have excelent reviews by many here on oilburners and ford enthusiast alike. Do yourself a favor boss. It aint real nice if your doing it twice.

Thanks for the suggestions, exactly why I asked anyway - figured I was wrong... I've seen some forums and sites complaining about some reman pumps from stores like that but was unsure overall - really just going down a personal rabbit hole.

Was checking over Conestoga Diesel Injection's site, looking at their "warranty" and "policies" page; when you click on either, it literally just leads you to a more or less blank page with "Placeholder" typed under where the info should be - little bit concerning off the break. Also, no email contact or anything, just a help line phone number that looks like a personal number? Hmmm

Checking over R&D, their stuff looks good, but again, as a noobie with this kind of stuff, really don't know. I'm basically just looking to replace the stock pump with something of the same specs; if it happens to have slight performance boosts, cool, but not looking for anything special. Seeing the pumps (RD2-80, 90, 110, etc) I'm guessing the base RD2-80 for 90cc peak fueling is what I'm kinda looking for.. Same for the Moose pumps, it'd be around a Mini-Moose IP w/ Buddy injectors paired; something like that.

Thanks again

Thanks all for the recommendation, as said before you won’t go wrong with anyone on that list, and you’re supporting businesses that support our IDIs. I am the owner of CDD, if you’re looking for a modest boost in power I can build you a pump that’s tailored to your setup, I assume you have a turbo, do you have any gauges setup like boost and pyro? If you do not and you’re not planning on adding any, something around 80cc should give you a good bump in power (about 10% more fuel over stock 5013 cal.) but if you have gauges a 90cc pump would really wake up your idi, just good to be able to monitor your engine vitals when you add the extra fuel.

Hi there, thanks for the reply. I do *not* have a turbo, it is a straight up stock 1993 F250 XLT 7.3L IDI w/ E40D. I don't really plan on adding a turbo or any gauges related (would love to, but alas, just can't do it now or in the near future). Basically just want/need a similar IP from my stock one, the Stanadyne in my original post. The 80cc as you mentioned sounds more or less what I'm kinda looking for now (with that knowledge now, of course). Any idea of cost? I'm up in Canada too, unfortunately.

Wes has recently mentioned that Justin (R&D) has had some issues with his fuel shop and isn't selling pumps currently. If you need one now, maybe you should try one of the other three, but please don't let that discourage you from considering justin for other things now or pumps in the future. I believe that Conestoga is trying to update their website so that's why it doesn't work very well. You can contact the #1 guy at Conestoga right here by sending Mel (Agnem) a PM. Conestoga's phone number that I've called in the past is 717-806-5561. Mel's a busy guy, actually they all are, and may not get back to you immediately, but he tries.

Cost depends on your core’s condition, you would be looking at 800-950 shipped to Canada from here in Texas.

Shipping to Canada? I think I recall that customs gets a bit pricey. Can it be shipped to a US address close to the border, and some one come across to pick it up?

That’s an estimate going off of another pump that went north of the border, I would know a more exact number once I had an address. Definitely much cheaper to ship to the border and take the trip to pick it up

Yeah, unfortunately I'm a 7hr-8hr one way drive to the border, and it would be in my leaky truck, not going to happen haha. Borrowing someone else's vehicle could happen, but I'd have to take a day off work for that - losing money either way! The last couple large ticket items I've had thru customs from the states haven't been that bad, it's more just the general US to CAD conversion that's killing us right now (willing to accept to get a quality part, though). Also, I wouldn't be able to send my core up front; gotta have it till the new part comes (still using it!).

@Thewespaul, do you happen to have a storefront or website/etc for CDD? Pardon me if I'm blind, can't really seem to find anything in my searches.

Just generalizing for an address without giving mine out, as it would be close enough anyway, this would be good as a rough estimate for conversion/shipping if you're able to use it: 397 Russell St, Barrière, B.C. - V0E 1E0 (and no, it's not anyone's address, literally just a town's Esso for privacy).

We're working on a website right now that will have an online store, but in the meantime just using OBN here and facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ClassicDieselDesigns

Updated shipping options going off of book pricing:
UPS Three Day- $280
UPS Four Day-$230
UPS Seven Day Standard- $85

There will be some additional cost added on from tax and insurance fees, I insure these pumps for $900 in the unfortunate case they are damaged in shipping.

I understand not being able to send the core, there will be $150 core charge that is refunded once your core is received. I dont have an 80cc in stock, the 90cc pumps are built with a stage three leaf spring which cant be turned down much more than 85cc without losing cranking fuel, and I wouldnt like to see that run on a na engine pyro or not. I can put together a stock to 80cc pump for you using one of my cores for $850 and using the cheapest shipping method you would be looking at $1065 shipped with the core charge included, thats about 1450 in CAD bucks. If you like for privacy, you are welcome to send me a pm here, or an email at [email protected], and we can iron out the details;Sweet
