Why RTV the air filter housing?

I see a guy get let go on the job but had to finish the day. He had 2 oil changes left. He lock tight oil pan bolt and oil filter. I asked him why that probably going to be me changing the oil next time.

Ha! Where I work they catch you walking in the door, they confiscate your phone and any bags you carry in with you. Then you get an exit interview with HR to explain that you are terminated while security clones your phone and any electronics you have on your person. Then they march you out and mail you your belongings. You will never even see your work area!

and that is why when I let someone go, there is no warning. they're supervised while their work are is inventoried and packed and then they are escorted to the door. I did a civil standby one time for a computer firm doing a mass layoff and I picked up a few ideas watching HR handle things.
