turbos and the 6.0

so i have another friend that has one of the troublesome 6.0's
he wants to rebuild his turbo, and cannot find out what turbo he has.

how many different turbos came on the 6.0's? his rig is a 2004 excursion.

There are at least 2 different factory turbos on the 6.0.

The 03 and some 04's have one turbo, and the rest another.

I think the big difference it the number of blades on the "fans"...

The 03 has less blades, and whistles like a "*****"......

Sorry I don't have more info, I've only looked at my turbo mounted where its supposed to be...... I know they can be swapped, because many want an 03 for the whistle..... The turbo may be when they did the revision, when they moved the ICP from the HPOP cover, to the passenger front oil rail. 04.5ish.........
