I have a 89 or 9? Dodge with a Cummins 5.9. This is my first one and even though it has been sitting in the yard for a while I have not messed with it much. I went out to pull the tranny cooler and lines for my other Dodge with a gasser. I noticed it had lines running in different directions unlike my old gasser. The lines ran to a canister on the passenger side of the engine. Then a line from that ran to the front of the engine. Then of course there is a return line and the lines that ran to the cooler in front of the radiator. Is that canister on the side of the engine a transmission fluid cooler? If so, how does it work? If it is I am assuming it works a lot like the oil cooler on my 7.3 Stroke.
