I have always run 265/75R16 on 16x7 aluminum wheels. I have been thinking of going to either 285/75R16 or 315/75R16 on 16x8 aluminum wheels. Here are the wheels I have been thinking about wheel choice #1 and wheel choice #2.

From what I remember the 285's are a tight fit and the 315's require a couple of inches of lift. Is that correct?

Has anyone run the pro comp tires?

I don't have the info in front of me but if you can cross reference 33x12.5x16.5 those didn't have issues with fitment on my '86 F250 4X4. I have been told anything larger required lift or cutting.

my math says:
285/75/16 = 32.83"/11.22"/16 - 315/75/16 = 34.6"/12.4"/16...

been running 33/12.5'16.5's for 7 years on my 2wd with no lift, but i did shim the bumper a wee bit. pic on this thread: 33" meats

bet you could slap them right on.i think it's the width that gets you more than the height.

if i ever buy new wheels, i think i'd have to go to rickson & get the 19.5's. $227 each gets you cast alum w/ caps - communist china made, tho. those type 81's @ the top of this page: rickson but i try not to buy import, myself. specially china.
