driving around today in my 87 F350,
my "water in fuel" light came on.
does not dont too weird right?
what if i told you that my water/fuel separator is deleted and the connector has been taped off?
well i realized that i was low on fuel (fuel gauge works perfectly) at the last line on the gauge.
so i filled up.
the water in fuel light shut off upon next start up.
kinda weird, the only electrical connection i have to any part of my fuel system is the fuel sending unit, facet pump, and the 3 on the IP.
the new water separator is wireless.

maybe i have a ghost as a low fuel indicator?

i have some other minor electrical issues i need to address.
i think i have a melted wire somewhere.

Maybe the water in fuel wire grounded out? Of course, it wouldn't account for it going off after adding fuel. I hate electrical gremlins

Well, did you feed it after midnight? Maybe that was your problem...

Seriously though, wire somehow, or someway, had to have grounded out. Maybe not at the end, but maybe somewhere in the harness.

taking my son to see the lamest movie on the planet thats showing in theaters,
the 3 month old facet pump died.
the pump still had 12V, but did not pump fuel.
i thought these things were supposed to last!

i got a ride home and grabbed a back up fuel pump, installed it on the side of the road, and i got her home.
i think its time for a holley black fuel pump with regulator.

we shall see how well it holds up to diesel fuel.

If running a bypass reg just make sure that you run a dedicated return back to the tank. Long while ago a past member found out the hard way why you don't tie a e-pump to the factory return.

wouldnt the unwanted fuel already return to the tank with the stock fuel system?

That sucks your Facet crapped out so quickly. I've been running the same one for close to five years and haven't had a single problem. Maybe you just got a bad one (for whatever reason). Is it still under warranty?

yea i wont be running a return line from my regulator.
ive ran these pumps for YEARS without a return line from the regulator.
running sometimes up to 8 psi.
these pumps are durable.
and if i set the reg at 6-7 psi, she should last as long as the pumps ive ran in my gassers.
but from now on, ill have a back up pump, and all of the tools to change it on the fly sitting in my truck.

gonna go return this pump.
ill update in a bit.

NAPA KNOWS HOW, NAPA KNOWS HOW....

....TO SCREW THEIR CUSTOMERS.
went in to return the facet.
i paid 171 and change for this pump.
they reimbursed me 158$
i asked for my cash back, because they couldnt find their part number for the Holly pump,
they said " we can write you a check"
SMH
so instead of getting a check, i purchased some other items for my SD and random projects.
ill order the fuel pump from Summit.

my back up fuel pump only produces 2-3 psi.
but atleast it works!
