Just another reason to do the work yourself or use an independent garage. Yes, I know that for a factory recall you have to go to a dealer, but limit you visits. I suspect a bad situation would develop very quickly should they try to pull a stunt like that on me. FWIW I was very paranoid when I lived in Kalafornia [driving an older van] for that very reason. By the same reasoning though I seen a few vehicles that made me very uneasy knowing they were being driven on the streets the same time I was on them. They were not about to see a dealer though.

So it is just an in line fuse? Anyone have have a pic so I can see which wire is it?
I just can't bring My self to let someone sit on My drivers seat, let alone drive the truck. I have two trucks I'll have to do this so I'll appreciate some instructions to identify the wire.

    Thank You.

Ok I see it now (page 5), can I buy this part (part #?) so I install it? I don't think they'll just give it to Me even if I drive the truck to the dealership.
Mel, could Your contact at ford sell Me a couple of this plugs .

Well thanks to member Silver91Hatch I was able to get a part # and good tips for this recall. I bought one from My local ford dealer and plugged it in about 5 minutes, the only hard part was to get under the truck since mine does Not have this plug on the master cylinder but on the frame. Here are a few pics for someone looking for a little help.

That's wonderful, that will lead to even MORE vehicles runing around with underinflated tires than it is supposed to be curing, because all of those brainchild quicklube tech types always check tires when hot and always set them to the standard 32 psi, which is a cold setting, but when hot they should read near 40 or so so the boneheads LET AIR OUT to get them down to 32, and never once have I seen one of those guys look at a door tag for a factory inflation which is almost always MORE than 32 psi. THe 32 is not a max pressure for teh tire , it is simply the max weight that can be carried at that pressure as a reference. If the vehicle manufacturer calls for 42 then the tire goes to 42 and load increases accordingly. You put a 3rd party in charge of that without your permission and there's going to be accidents left and right.

"Indicate on the vehicle service invoice that a tire inflation service was completed and the tire pressure measurements after the service were performed."

    yay:rolleyes:

customer: "I thought an oil change was only $30 according to your sign, but my bill is for $50??"

service tech: "Yes, but due to the new federal regulation, we were required to have a specially trained technician perform a tire inflation and verification service on your vehicle."

customer: "What's a tire inflation and verification service??"

service tech: "He put air in your tires and double checked the pressure."

They better be some pretty big and determined boys to keep my truck

Won't let me leave? I guess I'd just have to be there to see that happen. <g>

I'm no tough guy - but I can get pretty darned excited pretty darned quick.

    And I always have a spare key.<g>

Wow so according to the list my 02 F350 is under the gun here as well, wonder why I haven't got a notice yet unless it was fixed the first time. What do I do just call the local Ford dealer and give them the VIN number and they'll take care of it?
