It's been a damn long day. I didn't take a lot of pictures so you will have to use your imagination a little.
I started off under the truck. I finished off the fuel system by connecting up the return line. I ended up re-routing the line in the frame rail a bit to make a nice connection. The end result was a nice 8" rubber hose connection between the hard lines. Then the million dollar question. Which tank is it on? So I laid a tissue over the vents on both tanks, took the return fitting loose off the collector and hit it with a shot of air.
Before:
After:
Notice it blew the tissue off the hole. So the answer is we are on the rear tank.
This is the starter off the parts truck after I cleaned it up a bit.
I don't know how long it will last, but it worked when I took it off. It's not too bad to change. I put the 3/8 stud in the top starter hole.
Got the crossover pipe installed.
The rest of the day went here.
It don't look like much but there is a ton of work here. Got the remote posts installed. GP controller installed. Mega fuses installed.
175 amp fuses for the alternator and the glow plugs. Basically followed the factory wiring bringing everything together on the starter relay where the remote posts basically act like the battery. Pulled power off the bottom of it and it's fed by 2/0 cable into 4awg for everything on top. Ground is 2/0.
Made the starter cable. Need the some cable clamps and some 3/4" wire loom. I'll get the high temp stuff.
So what's left. Hmm. Intake hat back on and connect the pipes. Put the rest of the down pipe on. Gauges. Small ground wires to the new stuff under the hood. Battery grounds. Fuel in the rear tank. Should probably take the belts off to minimize possible problems. Need work up part of the other half of the big 10 pin connector.
I think she may have a pulse tomorrow.
