Sounds like I have something bouncing around in my timing gear case

Sounds like gear whine to me - Is it getting enough oil? Oil should basically splash it's way up from the lower gears; that's the only way that gear gets lubricated.
One other thing to try - the top two bolts on the water pump - back them out by 2 turns, fire it up and see if it still does it.

Not a thing wrong with that sound. What you are hearing is the gear mesh noise from the injection pump making pressure pulses

Mines the same it's normal there is no good oil flow on the top gear.

a bad injector not only does sound but will also have a visual (white smoke) and physical (engine shake) from imprecise firing.
