Just bought this 1995 dodge van, I bought it knowing that it did not run but it has me stumped. .
There is no fire at the coil.
Checked all fuses they checked ok
Relays ok
So without diagnostics any thing I might check?

I will do some checking Thanks Towcat . like that plumbers crack
This thing has been sitting for quite some time (months) I guess.
Is it safe to jump a hot wire to the coil like we used to do?

are we a caravan or a Bseries?
either way, do be careful, dodge ECM's of that vintage are very sensitive to voltage spikes and won't tolerate much monkeying around.

this is crazzzyy cookoo if I take the coil wire off at the dist and hold it to ground I get good spark BUT if I hold it to the dist cap post nothing (no spark)

this van is a 3500, 360engine , automatic trany, Verizon had it and it was well maintained.
I have three of these vans so I swapped parts with a good running engine changed the whole dist and the crank trigger. The hall effect sensor is in the dist.

I am just lost, I guess I could change the EMC but I hate to might mess something else up!:dunno

Replace cap, plugs and wires, rotor, you have an open somewhere or very high resistance in the wires.
