I have a 1972 D200 with a 318 727 auto and a D60 with 4:10 gears. I would like to slide in an overdrive tranny in place of the 727. My issue is I know less than zero about Mopar trannies. Can someone enlighten my on what is out there and what would work with my application? Also, is there a good auto tranny out there by Mopar that is not electronic?

Most of the OD transmissions are Electronic so you would have to have an ECM to the best of my knowledge. look on wikipedia see what u can dig up there.

Most of the late 80s early 90s trans were able to be put on a switch for overdrive and lockup. I have a gearvendors adapter for a 2wd 727.

Cool man keep me posted.on.how the rebuild is going. I got a 98 ram 1500 with a v6 and it has that same tranny as the jeep grand Cherokee with the i6.
