HELP OVERHEATING

1988 7.3 idi overheating on highway not idle. Will idle fine for 20 minutes plus but 10 minutes on the highway at 60mph and 2200 rpm will start to over heat please help. I'm on the side of the road

how old is the thermostat? is the rad hose soft or rock hard?

Radiator hoses are newer there good and the thermostat is working correctly

do you have an aftermarket gauge? what indicator(s) do you have,that the engine is actually running too hot?

is it overheating with soft hoses or rock hard hoses?

No after market gauge but it will be a the N on normal when idle and creep up when on the highway I pulled over and it was boiling over. And the hoses when over heating feel firm they have water flow through them

any help with running the heater on full blast?

Heater was bypassed buy previous owner haven't hooked it back up I live in florida

Do you have v belts or a serp belt? Still have all your belts?

I do have v-belts I made sure there was no slip on the water pump I'm currently driving truck is running warmer than usual but with the AC off it's not overheating I'm still not sure of the issue I tested radiator cap overflow is working as it should nothing is plugged up but it is Running warmer-than-usual

I'm going to ask Calvin's question in a slightly different way. While over heating, would you say the hoses feel like an over inflated tire? Or under inflated tire?

Slightly under the hoSe was still able to be squeezed a bit

Flow thru the stat is key, ford stat or vatozone/O really's?
Only the ford/ih work right.
Vaporlocked?
