Head gasket i had water shooting out the overflow hose took it apart between the 2 middle cylinders the hesd gasket got real small holes why

Hello my name is Duane new here .I have a 7.3 shooting water out over tow hose took it apart between 2 middle cylinders gasket has got like pin holes in it why

Hey man. If you mean there's pin holes in the cylinder wall, it's a condition called "cavitation" or "block worm". If you're talking about the gasket itself then I don't know.

I know nothing about these head gaskets, but just from the pic It looks to me like that is just the metal substrate which has holes in it from the factory and the covering gasket material has worn away.

That is just the inner part of the gasket. Most headgaskets are a triple layer with that steel mesh between 2 layers of softer gasket material.
