Nah.... If he wants I can show him how to change filters without taking a diesel bath ;)

Let some poor sap at the dealership do it :rotflmao :rotflmao

Mike 2 things you will want to change out first, FUMOTO drain valve and LCF HFCM plug for the frame mounted fuel filter. Other than that leave it alone.

Oh yeah make sure the coolant resevoir is sitting on the MIN line when it's cool, so it won't puke on ya.

May want to wire up #4 Up-Fitter switch for high idle, that was nice in the winter.

Here is a write up I did on the fuel filter changing:

Changing your fuel filter without the mess

It also has the International Part Number you need to order the Fuel Filter Kit from International. Mine from International are roughly $38. Much cheaper than Ford and Napa here.

I was credited for this article, but I borrowed about 95% of the wording.

High Idle For a 6.0

Ahh, good info Tom. Thank you for the links and the time invested in doing the mods and writing the articles.

Oh yeah... CCV re-route is a must too. It will help your CAC boots stay on.

Congrats Mike!

I'm going to have to start watching this side of things because a buddy of mine picked up a 6.0 EX the other day.

Mike, drive it like you stole it. That keeps the EGR valve, and other pollution control stuff from getting carbonned up, and malfunctioning.

Travis, if you friend has a 04 I have the service manual on CD if he wants a copy.
