You didn't state what year truck.
But 94-95 is down the back of the filter.
95+ is on the driver side of the housing.

found it its on the backside its a 95. Does it leak only when running? I just checked best I could without pulling the bowl out.

That was my problem this last time. I had considered it when I had everything out the first time but I didn't plug it. Certainly it would never be an issue if you maintain your filter.
Of course, I had replaced every soft part and line associated with the pump and fuel bowl that first time.

I have replaced, pump, filter, rebuild kit from Diesel O-rings. It had the leak when I bought it a year ago thought it was the pump, wasn't now I realize but have a spare incase this one goes out. Thanks for all the helpful insight and suggestions. Is it better to plug it off or just replace the sensor? This truck only gets driven on occasion but going to start making it my weekend driver.

there is a cheap alternative to e-fuel besides the expensive kits like Jasper has.
go to the junkyard and find the 99+ hpop reservoir and fuel bowl, the fuel and oil lines, and a freeze plug.
then you can swap to the 99+ electric pump on the frame rail.

I found a youtube that identified the plug as a 1/8 NPT so if I use that is there something I should apply to the thread to ensure it doesnt leak?

Nothing you can bypass unless you're going to efuel.
Get a rebuild kit at diesel orings.
Make sure you have the banjo bolt washers.

Pardon the intrusion...I don't want to hijack the thread...but can someone explain to me what the hell is "efuel"??? I'll listen "off the air"!

TNX...
