Not because I'm doing the swap but my new to me driveshaft is. My calibrated eyeball says the front section of my two piece shaft is about 1-1.25" too long. It would probably go but I could see it wiping seals and causing issues.

The rear looks about right but it could maybe stand to have a hair more in the slip joint which shortening the front would do.

Does that sound about right? My searches have come up with no definitive answer. But it is a hair too long to my way of thinking.

Thanks!

Autozone sells new front driveshafts. They list the lengths. They are measuring from the centerline of one u-joint to the centerline of the other on the far end.

c6= 39 1/2"

e4OD= same 39 1/2" but it's a different part number.

4 speed= same 39 1/2" same part number as the c6

zf 5 speed= 37 1/2 "

I would run it about half way between falling out and crushing the tranny. Just my 2 cents. :)

That would be awesome. No rush though. Not going to get solved this weekend.

Do you just need the rear tail shaft? That is a slip joint on a 4x4?

You know, the more I think about it, I think I'm okay really. I just need to take the measurement off the other shaft. I'll confirm it by sliding the yoke in where it belongs and measure to the carrier bearing mount. The rear is going to be different because it's not a factory slip joint in the middle.

So actually, I think I'm good to go. I appreciate the offer though.
