Running around saturday and almost lost the front hub off my 89 crewcab. Overall no damage, just my pride. The bearing retainer looked sketchy when I did the brakes and swapped locking hubs a few weeks ago so I ordered new ones, but hadn't put the new ones in yet. That was a bad choice. I'm running the 3-bolt style auto hubs and the bearing lock is a 1/2 moon deal with a finger to lock the nut.
The picture is after I got stopped in a parking lot and pulled the wheel off. Once I removed the caliper from the rotor the hub fell off in my hand. I was just getting ready to start heading down the highway at 60mph when I felt a pop and it started driving weird.
