OOps!!... looks like I didn't state my idea properly... my question is... can early pre-powerstroke heads and gear tower fit on late powerstroke short block?
Not .. can 6.9 heads fit on 7.3 powerstroke block....
My thought is to use the short block from the 97 Powerstroke and build it up as an IDI engine instead of deal with all the computer crap that takes endless trips to "dealer only" tools and parts.... ie. injectors are $300 for powerstroke vs $40 for IDI engine [92 7.3]. Plus, I can work on the IDI engine and fix it with a hand full of wrenches vs loads of test equipment and such.
