About the gaskets, I'm really not getting anywhere with cometic yet. Its kind of a slow process it seems. I'd like to get the ball rolling on something though because I want to get this engine put back together and running by next summer.

So far the truck seems to run well with the NA 6.9 out of that other truck. I had a Flowmaster super 40 installed since I couldn't run the straight 5" exhaust without a turbo. It was so loud it was killing me. The flowmaster is a 4" in 4" out type so it should flow plenty well for a NA engine.
The truck has a few issues I'd like to work out this weekend before driving it the 200 miles to my new place. The brakes are very stiff like theres no vacuum but I tested the vacuum pump and its putting out plenty of vacuum.
Second, when I went to start it the first time with this new engine I pushed on the clutch and heard this loud bang and the clutch pedal went to the floor. I discovered the bang was the firewall breaking in half, I have a plate my dad made back in 1984 to repair the cracked firewall on my grandpas truck so I'm gonna use that.
Third, it takes allot of slipping in 2nd or a 1st gear takeoff to get the truck moving, which makes me think theres a brake holding up but I can't figure out which one.
Fourth, my fuel pressure regulator is still leaking fuel like mad and I'm ready to throw it in the trash. The only way to make a holley FPR seal is to redesign it and cut it for orings on the fittings or something. Honestly I don't know why they ever though pipe thread would seal. They should have used a flared fitting instead.

Yea, I really missed my truck. Its funny how my GF doesn't understand the connection I have to my truck. She went to the extent of saying a few days ago "you love that truck more than you love me!" LOL

I don't care who you are, thats some funny chit right there !!!

Don't agree with all of it since trucks can get headaches, jealous and even needy but still nothing like the "other" senario. LOL
At least mine gets jealous if I spend too much time with other vehicles and starts asking for attention by breaking small, silly things that don't leave me stranded, but just kinda.......nag.......
