Hi All,
I'm looking at a 1990 Silverado automatic with a 6.2. It has a banks turbo on it. According to the P.O. the engine was rebuilt, then about 20K later bent a rod.

Is this fixable in itself, or would it likely have taken some other parts with it ?
Will a 6.5 work in this truck easily ?

Would that year have been the 700R4 or the 4L80E ?

The truck is rust free and in really good shape, the price is right with the banks, I'm thinking fix it and sell it or part it out, depending.....

Any Thoughts or advice appreciated....

Thanks

If he says it bent a rod, the pan would have had to been dropped to verify this and he could have seen if there was some more damage. I bought a Blazer for parts with a Banks trubo on it. The rod broke into 3 pieces and broke the block in several places. FWIW I sold the complete turbo setup for $800 to the first person who inquired about it(may have gotten more on ebay but didn't want the hassle and the guy picked it up in person)
