I picked up a 92 dodge d250 a few weeks ago and thought Id share it.

It was converted to 4 wheel drive with stock dodge mounts. The springs are two 4 inch lift springs stacked.

The axle is I believe a dana 44hd with closed knuckles and kingpins with drum brakes lol.
The transmission acts like a 4 speed but I believe its a 5 speed missing 5th gear and the transfer case is out of a newer drivers side drop dodge truck.

Needless to say it is a bit of a basket case. But it runs amazingly well and fires up right when you hit the key. It also has an intercooler and all the pieces I would need to put it into my ford if I plan to go that route. As it is I like the way it drives and feels, but It needs a 4wd crossmember and a different axle and it should be ready to go.

Nice truck. If it's a 5th Gear nut issue, coupled with your comment about a driver's side drop t-case, I'm betting it came from a 2nd Gen Dodge which would make it a NV4500 and a NP241 or 241HD t-case if they got it from a HD truck. If they got a half ton drivetrain (since you referred to the Dana 44) then I think the trannie was a NV3500. Lastly, if it's a Cummins you may have some long term issues with the relatively weak Dana 44 since I don't think it's rated to carry the weight of the Cummins.

Still, with all that said, it's a cool truck and will last a long time. Congrats.

Im not sure which tranny it is at the moment. Its a monstrosicty for being pieced together lol.

I think I may ether buy an old power wagon (if I can find a nice one) or yank the motor and throw it into my ford until I find a parts truck to make s nice dodge. I also may just swap the correct ceossmember in and out a ford dana 60 under.

Ill try to get some tranny pics this weekend if I can. The bellhousing says chrysler on it but the tranny was to greasy ti find anything.

The cab is in great shape. The bed is rough though. It needs some work but a parts truck will help.

Anyone have a cheap powerwagon?

I have some more pictures but they are not uploading for some reason.

But i did find that the truck actually has a 4 speeds trans. The numbers on it correspond to a t18 ford 4 speed. I still havent looked at the transfer case yet.

What really baffles me is that the bellhousing has a chrysler symbol stamped into it but the transmission looks like it just bolted right up and fits the bellhousing. This thing has me scratching my head. It runs and shifts greats besides the front end being very scrary.

Anyone have any information of 4 speeds behind cummins motors? Top speed with 4.10s and with 3.55s?

Im debating if I shoud just run the 4 speed or buy the adapter and run a zf5.

Here are a few pictures of this oddball tranny setup and the rigged 44 frontend.

That is a nice looking cab, no rust on the roof?
Dodge has the drop on the pass side indeed, also they did offer a 4spd the np435 but I've never seen it behind a 6bt.
If it is turned up which might by the looks, make sure there is a pyro to keep an eye on it, the egt's climb fast when they have so much fuel on this things.
Many swap a nv4500 behind the 6bt, is the cheapest/fastest way to get a good tranny with OD. I have the getrag which is ok if You shift it nicely and like to keep an eye on the oil level, after some long reading I decided I would wait until I found a good 6spd from a bus or MD truck with a 6bt already in it and get everything from it then put it behind My 6bt.

how many miles? KDP done?

Congrats.
