Like I said before: You aren't arguing with me, Tom Brewer provided that information for the Tech articles.

The best resource I could find was this IH literature. Look as the IDI specs for the Ford engines. IH had several different HP versions. This IH info only lists the HP and not torque.

Hope that helps some.

look closely, and you'll see these say the same thing, only worded different with both comments providing additional, but not contradicting info.

any one else notice that the 6.9 had the option of being 155 hp? was that a CA emissions thing?

on my valve cover id tag, it had a either 155 or 170 specs, my motor 170 was hole punched

emissions.
that brings up a good point.
there's different injectors, and likely different ip tunes etc variances.
this could explain a 5hp diff, here and there too.

Yeah I'm still not sure what the spec is as the info reported here seems to differ. Just checked my valve covers and they state 185 hp @ 3300 rpm and on the front cover the 90 is punched out where it reads 88 89 90 and I know it's original. But from what I read on here a 90 should have 180 hp and either 338 or 345 for torque?? Did Ford publish the specs differently than International did??

Thanks for all the info guys.

On a side note, the literature that Heath provided lists a manual shutoff IP for the 86-87 IDIs, anyone know where they were used?
And a glowplug upgrade kit for the 6.9.

my 93's tag has a 166hp and a 185hp. The 166 has a hole punch in it. Since I live in Denver, I would assume that this truck has been in CO its whole life, and has a high altitude set up.

Anyone notice that the factory turbo setups have such a low power inrease over NA? Do they only run 3 lbs or something? The truck I'm getting has a Banks sidewinder kit in it and it's like driving a Ferrari compared to my NA 6.9
