I couldn't tell ya. I'm no expert on how to make a goat scream. The first thing I'd do is to make sure the KDP has been taken care of. Do a search on "killer dowel pin" and you will find lots of reading.
btw in a few days, the next month's issue of DP feature article is about bombing 1st gen goats. that should be good bathroom reading;Sweet

its not really a cost thing, i have access to a 92 3/4 ton ram..... 2wd tho but is all good, guy wants 2400 but its been sitting for some time so i bet i get it for less.....

2400 +/- and it has good miles? Tell me where it is if you don't want it... :)

that's pretty pricey for a 2wd.
also, unlike ford idi's, goats go for a premium. get ready for sticker shock.
i bagged my current goat for $1600. 3/4t clubcab 4x4.
here's the linky.....

Come on...you have to admit that's not an every day deal....

Here is one for $1950 if you want one that bad. They pop for less then $2400 all the time. For $2400 you can get a 4x4 super cab, $2400is to much for a 2x4 reg cab, those cab be bought for $1500-2000 all day long.

I bagged my 5.9 12V for $500....Just a rebuilt long-block (rebuilt in 2005) with the fuel system and turbo/exhaust....P-pump, came out of a 1995 Ford school bus from a local school board....It's supposed to be in my possesion this week once my buddy get's around to bringing it to me.:sly.....I can't wait to start tweeking it....Then I need to find something to stuff it in....I was eyeballing my 92 dually 4x4 but I kinda' want a 98+ super-duty as I love that bodystyle and I've yet to have one of the newer trucks.;Sweet....I might build a 2wd for a summer toy and keep the IDI for the winter and plowing. If I put it in a 4x4 I'll sell the F250 and put an IDI in the dually.

I have a buddy who lined me up when his friend decided to sell.....His first call was to me and I put a deposit on it right away....I had another last winter in a running 1993 5-ton Ford truck, I bought it for $500 and sold the whole truck for $2000 when I needed the dough....I'm still crying about that one - it had 400,000KM and it ran good with a newish turbo on it.

In stock trim a cummins will be more reliable and more powerful than a pre-powerstroker.
Cummins=500K engine, 6.9/7.3=300K engine.

rebuilding a IH idi is "affordable"
rebuilding a Cummins will eat you alive. AKA...if you have to ask...you can't afford it.:eek:
