2500 gas job to 12 valve

hey I have a 2000 2500 with the 360 block gas job in it, i got a good deal on it and have been wanting to do a diesel swap for a while, I have done some research but cant really find what I need. First off whats easer the 1st gen 12 valve or 2nd? i heard the 1st gen because of the lack of wiring. second what all do I need to do? engine and tranny? and possibly rear end? and what would
I be looking at for a total price after?

I know im new i did a bit of searching on these forums but any help would really be appreciated, and id probably do it my self ive never done a swap but ive taken a few engines in and out of vehicles before

the 5spd on in your truck will work but you need to find a cummins bellhousing and imputshaft. best way to do all that is call peter up and south bend clutch. he does alot of stuff lke that with guys and everything he sells is A-1 stuff.

If I was you I would use a first gen, find a motor between 94-97. Very simple to wire up and the most stout cummins in my opinion.
