I am going to keep the factory gauges and maybe have aftermarket gauges so I know what is going on. I could also get a f600 dash, I don't know yet. I want to make it look factory but at the same time I want it to work.

I think what we may end up doing is pulling the factory gauge out and replacing it with some aluminum, maybe do some bead rolling and just update all the gauges, I like factory looks but we are gonna use this truck to haul our mud drags truck to events and really need the functionality. Tough decision though.

So a friend has an HX35 off a Cummins, has anyone used one on a International IDI? I can get it for $150 and I am trying to think where I can mount it.

It's not a terrible place to start but I would prefer a HX40 or an S360 for a good turbo to just use with out much modification.

I was wondering if I could feed it off my factory N/A y pipe like right as the two sides come together, and then run a long up pipe to the intake. I know some other guys mounted their turbo down there. I don't plan on getting crazy off road so I am not worried about smashing the turbo down there. I can also make a skid plate to protect it.

You could remote mount it almost anywhere. @jaluhn83 @greg50H both ran them.
There was another guy heide or something like that.

Well the cab needs a little lift to work. It looks like the clutch is not going to work mechanically, so I am looking for hydraulics.

Use the hydraulics from an obs truck. I always get them from Advance Auto because they're the only ones I could find that Are made of metal instead of plastic.
It's cake to mount to the firewall. Just make sure you brace it so the firewall doesn't crack from the pressure.

I've seen people use them. With great success actually. To the point where it overpowers the clutch.

Thanks. I have to get the turbo and figure how to mount it, and get stuff for the pressurized intake, like a hat of some kind to seal the intake. I also have to remove everything and have the frame straightened, so I get to grind my engine mounts off. Two steps back, one ahead.

HX35 is a good match. IMHO anything bigger is pointless. Mine has the stock wg setting and will make a solid 19-20 lb. That's enough to match well with the bull moose pump and makes good power. I also have studs, decked pistons and ceramic coating. I would be hesitant to run the HX35 on a stock motor unless you dropped it down to 10-15psi. Not sure what it would do then, might actually work pretty well. Depend too on hat the goal is - I want reliable towing power, but it seems like a lot of folks are playing the horsepower/boost ***** size game and all they care about is big numbers.....

I don't have a remote mount, I have a custom fabed turbo setup similiar to the original banks design with the uppipe on the drivers side and down pipe on passenger. I also have the turbo somewhat higher and further forward than a standard aftermarket setup, and have a customized intake. I think that there would be clearance issues with a HX35 or larger turbo on the standard mount simply because the compressor side is so much bigger than the T3/TE06.
