I have a few of those.
not needed in this case. I have a inbetween a 1/8 - 1/16" gap from the cut off wheel.
with the aluminum under it, it butt welds just fine.
those are more for replacement panels.
and they work great!

They seemed interesting.
I reckon having a gap and backing with aluminum would work as well as anything. Lol

Looks good, I like the adjustable backing brace idea. If you keep this up, you might convert me into a 6 door maker! LOL

unless you have a reason or a desire to own one, do not do it based on a financial decision.
cant really sell them for a profit. so ill just keep them for ever and ever:)
this is the last 6 door I do, for myself.
if I come across parts for cheap, ill build the shell and then flip it for someone else to put together lol

Yeah that would be the case for me as well. I would do it only if I needed to and would be keeping it forever.

Though the other reason would be as the "because I can" project which would come after the "giant bronco" project, the "speed ticket generator -err um I mean muscle car" project, and the "Lets actually fix all the little stuff on my PSD and get it where I want it" project.

got the roof almost buttoned up!
gotta grind my welds tomorrow.
fill in some of the spots I missed.
and then give it a coat of fiber bond to seal it.

back window is ready to install.

scored a fuel tank out of a 04 F450 for 150!

which brings the total up to $2100 spent on this project and 90 man hours.

both seats are in the most forward position, so the rear seat bolts can be unbolted. and they are power, so without power to the truck yet, this is where they stay.
the driver side is leaned back all the way.
the pass is all the way forward.

Damn... you been busy. Looks good. Did you cut the bed down or get luck and a short bed works?
