so im cleaning out the interior of the 02 and gonna try to get the cab stripped off the chassis.

im hoping to get the cab off.

we shall see what today brings.

You do know that 01 4R100 could possible have the dreaded MECHANICAL DIODE in it, unless it has been rebuilt.Those trannies were built just for a short period of time. Trackspeeder might know the build dates.

when I got the truck, it was just rebuilt.
it has never given me any issues.
the cab im using is the same cab that was connected to said 4R100

that truck is still complete. I hope to get to it this weekend, and have the cab swap done.

yesterday I only accomplished cleaning out the truck lol

I think that was brought up recently and he commented on it.

What brought the tranny to mind is, my Niece just bought an 01 F150 4R100 gas with low mileage, she is really pissed about the hard upshift and codes P0171 and P0172. Told her the tranny has to be rebuilt, it's got the Mechanical Diode in it. Bummer. I could do it, but I'm getting way to old to pull them now, then again, she's a 170 miles away. There goes ~$4 grand.

Being a 01, you'd have to do a zf6, otherwise it just wouldn't be right. Lol

There's stuff that has to be changed to put a zf6 in a obs, so may run into the same thing but trying to put a obs zf5 in a sd.
I don't know for sure though.

maybe a cross member issue but IDGAF about that
