Here is a link for aluminized 180 degree U bends 3 inch from Ebay. They are super cheap. If you buy about 5 of them you will have plenty of bends to make anything you need. 5 U bends yeilds 10 individual bends for you to use...
Here is the link to the ZF page. It has the troubleshooting instructions to help you determine what is wrong. It was very helpful to me.

I think your problem is the LIFT pump. My bet is the warm engine is effecting the lift pump and it is getting air in the fuel line. Put a pressure tester on the fitting of the fuel filter when the engine is warm and see what the input pressure is.
Well, last night I made my Clutch Master Cylinder linkage rod adjustable by welding a coupling nut and threaded rod to it. I pushed the clutch pedal against the stop and adjusted the linkage rod until it fit with no slack. Now the transmission goes into reverse easily and doesnt grind anymore...
Well I had my friend push in the clutch pedal while I watched the firewall. It is flexing between 1/4 and 1/2 inch. I ordered the TSB kit yesterday. It was $166.10 with shipping which is much cheaper than a new clutch. I am also going to reclock the clutch pedal like Brown Beast suggested...
I agree. I have the spec from the ZF troubleshooting instructions. I will check the travel and also how much the firewall is flexing tonight when my buddy comes over. I have a feeling that it is the firewall issue.
Yes I understand that the slave is different. The reason I replaced the master cylinder is because the pedal was not going all the way up even with the brake pedal. I believed that the master cylinder was bad. As I am reading now it looks like my firewall is cracked and that is my problem...
I have replaced the master cylinder already. I believe that maybe my firewall is cracked. Here is a link to the firewall reinforcement plate that I have found in my search for a solution. It looks like this is a HUGE ordeal to fix if the firewall is cracked...
Thank you for the part numbers. I have been wondering if the firewall is the problem because in the ZF troubleshooting matrix that is one of the symptoms but it is very difficult to check. Neither the master cylinder nor the slave cylinder has any adjustment. They are both fixed length...
Everyone,
I am having difficulty with my 1988 F350 Crew Cab. It has a 7.3 IDI and I believe a S5-42 ZF-5 speed. I am having a bear of a time getting it into reverse. I have to push the clutch past all the way to the floor to get it into gear and sometimes that isnt enough. For instance...
timing
You mean turn it counter clockwise facing which way?** I thought to advance it you must turn the pump towards the drivers side.* Is that correct or do you turn it towards the passenger side.* I would be facing the motor after loosening the nuts.

When you set the timing higher on your engine how did you get the nuts loose on the IP? A regular wrench just cant get in there. Did you modify a wrench to fit or did you buy a special one? If you bought a special one where did you get it? My 1989 7.3 is doing the exact same thing -...
Does anyone have a crankshaft for a 1999 6.5 turbodiesel? Mine broke a rod and trashed the crank. The best I have found so far is a new one for 399 with free shipping. Any place to get one cheaper?
