alright its time to rebuild the tranny in the goat (again) I already got a billet triple disc converter built buy midwest converters, BD valvebody, all plastic replaced with aluminum, steel sealing rings instead of cork or rubber and a 48re overdrive sping, problem is I keep burning clutches up...- redneck pride

nv4500 problems
Got a friend with a 97 12valve with a 5 speed and he can only get 2nd and 4th gear. 5th gear nut has been fixed, but were thinkin the bearings and synchros are bad cause its got bit more slop in it than it should have. ever now and then you can get 1st and 3rd but you can not get 5th or...- redneck pride

48re problems - starts out in 2nd gear
If its a 99 it most likley doesnt have a 48 in it, it would have a 47re in it, and I had the same problems, change the governor solenoid and pressure sensor in the valve body, that solved my problem, mine was starting in second sometimes and other times it would start in 1st but skip 2nd and...- redneck pride

Cracked Exhaust manifold?
water meth will help lower egts and get some extra power to boot, i'd say you wana stay around the 1250 range to be safe, but if you go over it for a second or to you arent going to hurt anything, just dont do it for long periods of time- redneck pride

just watch those six speeds try to find a five speed (NV4500) they hold up alot better and dont forget about that clutch if you start bumping up the power, it wont take long she'll be slipping like mad! auto's arent bad if they are taken care of though.- redneck pride

Cracked Exhaust manifold?
check with ats on the manifold they might be cheaper and they are a 3 piece unit so that it wont crack again, Id be checkn that turbo and make sure nottin happined to that also, whoever had it must a had some high egt's coming out of it- redneck pride

My atuo just went out of my 00 1-ton but it was kinda my own fault (note to self dont do reverse burn outs!) but other than that its been alright if you dnt plan on going huge hp you'll be fine, but before you buy make sure you test drive it and make sure it doesnt slip, sticks are nice and they...- redneck pride

My mistake it was the front clutch housing that split and it split at the back side I'll try and post some pics of it soon kinda funny lookin, I got one I took out of another tranny so we'll see what happens tomorrow when I get er in there!- redneck pride

I found out why it lost reverse, the direct drive drum split in two peices so the trannys on hold untill I get that part, the kit from patc did come with valve body mods and 5 clutch power pack, looks like a good kit, thats some nasty carnage you got goin on there! would a 48re drum work in mine?- redneck pride

Ya somtimes you wonder why you keep sticking money into the things but its addicting I guess! Maybe someday ill take the hp up over 5 er 6 hundered but I dnt know when, let me know how that oversize billet input holds up for ya. You havent broke the intermediate or output shaft yet have ya?- redneck pride

havnt got it yet supose to come tuesday or wednesday and according to the guy I talked to he said that I dnt need a billet input if wasnt planning on pushing huge hp out of it he said it would be fine for 600 hp but we'll see how she holds up.- redneck pride

6.7L Exhaust brake help
I dont know for sure but I think the exhaust brake on a 6.7 is incorporated into the turbo so check to make sure that it is even there. On the side of our turbo there is a small rectangle shaped box that looks like it would be the actuater, but I dont know for sure you might have to call the...- redneck pride

Ya the company Im going to order parts from has a cure for that problem they say it is sticking valves, or bad servo's the place is www.transmissioncenter.com or google PATC and that should bring you right to the dodge section.- redneck pride

I didnt check for all the foward gears, I havent rolled it out of the garage yet but I notice the other day wen I was pulling a small car trailer with a firebird on it that it was slipping in 1st and 2nd.- redneck pride

I was going to pull my truck out of the garage after installing a fifth wheel plate and I held the brakes and gave er some throttle to make some smoke role and I lost reverse it was all of a sudden and it didnt clunk or nothing like that it just revved up. I still got drive and all that but no...- redneck pride

white smoke no throttle response
I would definitly put a fuel pressure gauge on it and see what thats at, you got have at least five pounds to keep the injection pump from going out, hopfully the injection pump isnt the problem that can be costly- redneck pride
