the way the truck drives is seems geared kinda low eithe 4.10 or 3.55. what concerns me is there is no smoke under hard acceleration or towing. is there a way to turn the fuel screw all the way in and count the turns out to get it where it belongs or do i have to keep adjusting it and trying it...- Ford4life

the way it drives the truck seems to be geared kinda low, either 4.10s or 3.55s. and i would guess my welding setup to weigh about 1500 lbs. what has me wondering is that there is no smoke under hard acceleration or towing. is there a way to turn the fuel screw all the way in and count the turns...- Ford4life

truck starts right up every morning. it does however, have one of those cheap universal mufflers on it that the last owner put on. i was debating losing the muffler all together and going with dual exhaust out the back. the fuel filter is less than 6 months old and air filter seems clean enough...- Ford4life

What should I pay for high quality IDI injectors?
i bought 8 injectors brand new from pennsicola diesel for around 125 bucks about six months ago. I think they were delphi. I found them on a ebay store and they shipped them right out. i would definetly use them again.- Ford4life

possible new truck?
nice looking truck. to put the price in perspective i paid 2800 for an 86 f-350 regular cab with a flatbed dump. it also was having problems starting. it wound up being a bad connection in the harness for the glow plugs, and the timming was way retarded to boot.- Ford4life

there is no smoke at all. what concerns me is that the truck doesn't seem to have great power climbing hills on the highway. on an even moderate hill you have to shift down and the best you will get is like 35 or 40 mph. i don't know if this is normal for this engine or what? the truck has a...- Ford4life

i have a 86 f-350 with the 6.9L and it doesn't seem to have the power it should. when i got it the timing was retarded and i timed it by ear with some noticible improvment. i am pretty sure the fuel screw in the IP was messed with and i was wondering if there is any way to tell where the screw...- Ford4life
