Pics of IDIs still working?
Pulled this bad boy around a few times for work. It weighs 9250 lbs empty, and the truck is about 5300 lbs so I'm over ford's recommendations empty, but I have loaded it up with particle board and crossed the scales at 22,400 lbs combined. I think that's pretty respectable from a naturally...- NCheek

Well... Holley Blue left me stranded today!
I've had good luck so far (knock on wood) with the carrier pump that I got from GenLightning... It is mounted in the engine compartment and it pulls fuel all the way from the tank, and it hasn't given me a lick of trouble...- NCheek

If it is 10K vertical, 18K GTW (Gross Trailer Weight) then it will do fine, but that would be the highest vertical rating I have ever heard of. How to use Ferret Timing Adapter
IIRC, the sheetmetal tab is there, I'll just have to do some heavy duty cleaning to be able to read it. I have had success in everything else, I just couldn't see the marks even after completely ruining a wire brush trying to clean that dang tab...- NCheek

Very true on the GCWR. If I remember right, GCWR has to do with: 1) Vehicle Weight 2) Transmission 3) Axle Ratio 4) Brakes 5) Cooling System As far as the auto vs manual rating goes, I can only assume that the auto is higher because of the torque multiplication in the torque...- NCheek

I would be very wary of a 10,000 lb rated hitch if the entire trailer weighs in at 12,600... Even if the hitch is built with some fudge factor for impacts, road jarring or even just hard braking, using 125% of the 10K rating doesn't sit too well with me. You will probably get away with it...- NCheek

t stat job?
It's a bit of a task simply because you have to remove all of the bracketry on that side of the engine to get to the housing, but other than that, it's pretty standard. Also, only use the motorcraft thermostat, the off brands are of a different construction and will cause cooling issues.- NCheek

Yessir Damon, the T-18 has the 6.32 first gear ratio for those super technical crawls where the jump of an auto would be inappropriate... I'm like you, I would rather have a predictable acceleration. Strange Clutch problem
Sean, This was the way the clutch engaged on the '92 F-700 I used to drive when I worked at the hardware store. It had a Ford big block 429 and a big five speed transmission. I don't know why it worked that way, may have been adjustment on the mechanical clutch linkage, but who knows. Like you...- NCheek

Ok, so who makes the "best" Triple disc converter? ATS, Suncoast, B&D, (fill in the blank)...? I feel more assured that I can get away with a line flush and a TC change, since 98% of the magnet's debris was the "black mud" but there were a few shavings which I assume are result of the dying...- NCheek
